June 2012 – Moon & Stars

The day’s toll taken
nothing that can’t be undone
by moonlight and wine

the big fat full moon
like a cat’s whiskers cream filled
grinning from above

my eyes atrocious
blind to the stars in the sky
only in my dreams

wishing and scheming
star light, star bright, first star I-
oh wait, that’s a plane

children swing
up down and back again
like the moon and stars

swaying branches,
full moon.
~Thomas Dougherty

side by side we watch
the moon and stars’ reflections
dancing in the sea
