Since I started modeling when I was 18, turning 53 meant marking 35 years of doing silly things in front of cameras. It seems like… a lot. If you had asked me when I was 18 if I thought I’d still be doing these silly things when I was in my 50s, I would have laughed.
But here I am, still. Doing silly things. Happily gray-haired. Proudly post-menopausal in a world that thinks this time in my life should be marked by erasure and denial of any aspect of myself that is even remotely sexual, sensual, or in any way non-grandmotherly. Feeling like my best work is still ahead of me, on both sides of the camera.

Also I didn’t plan on baking myself a birthday cake but then I decided I wanted one so I cobbled together this Banana Split Cake from a bunch of bits & pieces I had in the kitchen.
